Pilot project places MedStar ambulance in far north Fort Worth to improve response times

To improve public safety and decrease emergency response time, a joint pilot project between the City of Fort Worth and MedStar will provide a dedicated ambulance to the far north sectors of the city during times of anticipated call volume.

Meacham onramp to northbound I-35W closed for construction

The onramp to northbound I-35W, just north of Meacham Boulevard is closed with plans to reopen a temporary ramp in a few months. This closure is part of the North Tarrant Express project and is the next step in building direct connectors for new managed toll lanes from I-35W to Loop 820.

Fort Worth Flashback: Central Fire Station

A modern Central Fire Station was constructed in 1899 at the corner of Throckmorton and Eighth streets. It had three wagon bays, sleeping quarters upstairs, a bell tower and a 40-foot lookout tower allowing firefighters to watch for smoke anywhere in town.
